From January 1900 a new serie of stamps Germania and motives from the German Kaiserreich was issued. The stamps were used to 1922. All values exist with different drawings, colours, watermarks, perforations or types of paper. The first serie issued in 1900 from January to October is easy to recognize as it has the inscription REICHSPOST. From 1902 Reichspost was changed to DEUTSCHES REICH.  There are 14 values in the first serie and you can find more information on each value 2Pf., 3 Pf., 5 Pf., 10 Pf., 20 Pf., 25 Pf., 30 Pf., 40 Pf., 50 Pf., 80 Pf., 1 M., 2 M., 3 M. and 5 M.  Only the most marked variations of each value are included.

The difference between type 3 and 4 can be more or less easy to see. As an illustration of the differences is an enlarged part of the stamp described at each value. The diffences are not specific, but is the same in all values.

Type 4 as type 3 - but the print is not as sharp as type 3 and the paper is of poorer quality and the watermark is unclear or even missing. Issued in 1915 and known as “Kriegsdruck”.
